DeskRewind keeps your workday on your desk
DeskRewind is a privacy-first desktop app for Windows and macOS. It remembers how your day unfolded — activity blocks, optional screenshots, journal notes, and named tasks — and stores everything locally so you can rewind a workday without sending your memory to the cloud.
What DeskRewind is
Most productivity tools ask you to upload timelines, screenshots, or “insights” to a remote service. DeskRewind takes the opposite approach: it runs as a local app, tracks active, idle, and locked time on your machine, and lets you scrub a personal timelapse of your day when you opt into screenshots.
Beyond the timeline you get a daily journal, named tasks (including optional AI-assisted import using your AI tools — DeskRewind never calls a model for you), Git analytics, tags, pomodoro, and exports. The goal is honest personal work memory — not employer monitoring, not a team dashboard, and not a surveillance product.

Privacy by design
Your activity, screenshots, journal, tasks, and exports stay on your computer. DeskRewind does not upload work memory. You can use the app offline.When online, it checks your license key with Lemon Squeezy and looks for updates on GitHub Releases.
DeskRewind does not record keystrokes, mouse clicks, mouse movement or scrolling. The product is for personal use on your own machine, not for watching employees.
Platforms
DeskRewind targets Windows and macOS on Apple Silicon (M-series). Intel Macs are not supported. Download the installer, explore your timeline, and activate a license from inside the app when you’re ready.
